Why do I choose modern calligraphy ?

I was working at a 09-18:00 office when I first heard of modern calligraphy. The office job became less challenging over time and I knew I didn’t belong there.

Then I stumbled upon a few famous modern calligraphers on Instagram. Seeing how they flourish with words and the calming feeling it gave sparked joy to me. The feeling is strong, yet peaceful.

Right then and there I knew I wanted to create beautiful art and bring the same amazing feeling to people. I’ve always been into art and hand lettering, so it felt like a perfect match. I bought all the tools and enrolled in few courses to learn the fundamentals of the trade, and the technique of building my own style.

Since then I’ve created multiple pieces to both my friends and customers, seeing the satisfying smile from the receiving end made me happier than ever.

‘‘Dare to Dream Big’’ is what I´ve learnt in my 3 years time (and counting) being a modern calligrapher. The motivation and energy I get from working towards my goals is what constantly fuels me.
